In 2004, René van den Enden patched the Odyssey3 prototype Flash Point to run properly on PAL Videopac+ machines. The original game requires you to use two joysticks at once, Robotron-style, but René's patch added a single-joystick mode as well. Classic Consoles Center received permission from the game's original developer, Rex Battenberg, to release the patched version on cartridge. One hundred Flash Point cartridges were released on Oct. 2, 2004. All copies included a wooden joystick holder, designed by Dieter König, to make two-joystick control easier. Sixteen copies were "Collector's Editions" that included plastic boxes, while the remaining 84 "Classic Edition" copies did not.
